Ann-Marie’s volunteer work and practice focuses on engaged Buddhism. Known for
blending and integrating other disciplines, Ann-Marie was also a deacon of the popular,
fun and highly controversial Dispensable Church with Hugh Prather based on the
teachings of "A Course in Miracles".
She is an annual presenter of Nonviolent Communication (aka Compassionate
Communication) for PeaceJam Foundation and EarthCare International helping to plant
the seeds for future peacemakers and ecologically literate proactivists.
Ann-Marie is a founding board member and past president of Friends of Chaco Canyon and
past board member of EarthCare International. She is also past founding board member
of Monte del Sol Charter School. She was also an active participant with the Santa Fe
Waldorf School throughout the 90's.
In the spring of 2006, she raised over $5,000 while riding in the 100 mile “America’s
Most Beautiful Bike Ride” around Santa Fe in honor of her Mom’s life to benefit the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Ann-Marie has supported her brother, John, in his tireless efforts to set up the Toni &
Trish Hospice House in Fisherville Michigan. Honoring a dying wish from their mother, Pat
(Trish) McKelvey, John has worked diligently to set up a hospice home for families to ease
the transition between this life and the next. The McKelvey family (Ann-Marie, her two
brothers, Jim and John, and their Dad, Mac) along with numerous cousins, aunts and
uncles joined forces with the Waskevich family and in the Summer of 2007 found space
through property owned by the local Catholic diocese.

opened March 1, 2008.
