Ask anyone — a native, a transplant or even a casual visitor, and they’ll all agree — there’s
something very special about New Mexico.
Ann-Marie lives in the high desert country surrounded by pinons and junipers at the foothills
of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains outside of Santa Fe. She enjoys writing and painting,
xeriscape gardening, hiking and biking the arroyos and mountains and talking to the ravens
and great horned owls.
As you can tell, Ann-Marie is a woman deeply devoted to our natural world and relishes
her time spent there. Her natural explorations took an exciting and wondrous turn recently
when she realized a life-long dream to raft the Colorado River. Fifteen days and 226 miles
through exhilarating rapids and the majestically pristine Grand Canyon offered a
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience nature in a totally unique manner.
"From the evening's soft glow on a modern adobe
building, to the ancient ruins at Chaco Canyon, to
landscapes with boundless skies and wondrous clouds,
New Mexico pulls me in and touches the depths of my
soul." Ann-Marie
